Tailoring that leads to work

Planned · operational status to be confirmed

Darzi by Y.E.S. is our planned apparel and tailoring initiative. As a charitable trust working on skill development near Kolkata, we want to offer silai (tailoring) training and a practical tailoring course that lead to production work.

Shamshad Salahuddin brings experience in tailoring, fashion design, and skills training to her role as Lead of Darzi by Y.E.S. Her professional journey reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, practical learning, and the development of skills that can open pathways to economic independence.

As she prepares to lead the Darzi initiative, Shamshad will help shape its training and production activities, supporting aspiring artisans as they develop their abilities and confidence. Through her leadership, Darzi aims to connect traditional skills with contemporary design and meaningful livelihood opportunities.

Education & youth

Education, Employment, and Youth Opportunities

Ongoing as funds allow

Y.E.S. believes that access to education, practical skills, and career guidance can help individuals build greater independence and confidence.

Our earlier employment initiatives included engagement with Magic Bus in connection with job drives and employment opportunities.

Through our ongoing and planned work, we aim to help young people develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to pursue meaningful education and employment pathways.

Specific historical programme details and outcomes are being reviewed before publication.

Y.E.S. has supported students with semester fees and learning tools, such as a laptop. The planned Y.E.S. Youth and Community Centre will offer education, digital literacy, spoken English and career preparation, dependent on space and funding. If you are looking for an education NGO in Kolkata or South 24 Parganas to support, this is where your gift goes.
